[:ja]米海洋大気庁が公開したインドのモンスーンです。
インド・ネパール・バングラデシュなどの南アジアでは、夏になるとシベリア高気圧が弱まり、西アジアに気圧が低い地域ができ、南インド洋やオーストラリア付近からこの低気圧に向かって南西季節風（インドモンスーン）が吹き出します。インドや東南アジアでは雨季そのものを意味する語としても使用されています。
インドではモンスーンによってもたらされる雨量が年間降水量の70%に相当し、大きな被害も出る一方、農家にとってはまさに恵みの雨です。インド・バンガロールのモンスーンの様子はこちらです。

NOAA posted the timelapse video of monsoon of India.
In the South Asia including India, Nepal and Bangladesh, the Siberian High weakens during summer and winds blow to the low pressure of the West Asia from Indian Ocean. This seasonal wind is monsoon but the term is widely referred to the rainy phase of a seasonally changing pattern.
About 70% of India’s annual rainfall comes from the monsoon which is a blessing for farmers while a certain damage to others is also notable.
