[:ja]NASAの地球観測衛星AquaがISSから撮影したロシアのレナ川デルタ（レナデルタ）です。これは2019年6月に撮影されたものですが、6月になってようやく雪解けが確認されています。
レナ川はバイカル湖の西20km、中央シベリア高原の南部に位置するバイカル山脈の標高1,640mに源を発し北東に流れ、河口部に面積10,800km2の三角州を形成し北極海のラプテフ海に注いでいます。レナ川流域はじめ東シベリアでは、最終氷期の時期でも空気の乾燥により氷河が形成されなかったと見られ、海沿いには氷河由来のフィヨルドがなく、大きな川は三角江ではなく三角州を形成しています。レナ川三角州は7つの分流があり、幅は400kmに達します。1年のうち9月末から5月初めまでの7ヶ月は凍結しツンドラ状態になりますが、その後は凍土も融解して一面の湿地帯へと変貌、夏の間は多くの野生生物の舞台となります。

[Earthview Wonders] No.1017: Lena River Delta🇷🇺
NASA’s Aqua satellite captured the Lena River Delta or Lena Delta, Russia. The image shows the snow melting in June.
At the end of the Lena River there is a large delta that extends 100km into the Laptev Sea and is about 400km wide. The delta is frozen tundra for about seven months of the year, but in May the region is transformed into a lush wetland for a few months. Part of the area is protected as the Lena Delta Wildlife Reserve. During the short summer, it thaws into a wetland of tremendous ecological importance. The Lena delta divides into a multitude of flat islands.
