[:ja]NASAの地球観測衛星Landsat 8が撮影したインド、ラジャスタン州のサンバール塩湖です。
サンバール塩湖はジャイプル近郊にあるインド最大の内陸塩湖です。この塩湖は、年間19.6万トンの塩を生産しますが、これは、ラジャスタン州の塩製造量の大部分、インド全体の9%を締めます。また、塩湖は北アジアやシベリアから飛んでくるピンクフラミンゴや他の鳥の越冬地としても知られています。

NASA’s Landsat 8 satellite captured Sambhar Salt Lake, Rajasthan, India.
The Sambhar Salt Lake, India’s largest inland salt lake, is located 80km southwest of Jaipur. The lake the source of most of Rajasthan’s salt production. It produces 196,000 tonnes of clean salt every year, which is around 9% of India’s salt production. Sambhar is also the wetland which is a key wintering area for tens of thousands of pink flamingos and other birds that migrate from northern Asia and Siberia.
