[:ja]NASAの地球観測衛星Aquaが撮影したニュージーランド北島のホークスベイ付近の干ばつの様子です。
ニュージーランド北島では干ばつが続いており、オークランドでは雨が降らない日が2020年2月16日の時点で40日も続き、2013年に更新された「39日」を更新しました。それに伴いオークランド北部のノースランド地方、オークランド、さらにワイカト地方の北部、さらにオークランド周辺以外ではギズボーンの北部、カンタベリーの北部でも干ばつ宣言が発令されています。今回の干ばつによってオークランド全域で深刻な水不足が起こっています。そのためオークランド全域で先週くらいから「節水キャンペーン」が行われています。
