アラブ首長国連邦（UAE）は、アラビア半島のペルシア湾（アラビア湾）に面した地域に位置する7つの首長国からなる連邦国家です。国土の大部分は、平坦な砂漠地帯であり、南部には砂丘も見られます。ホルムズ海峡に近いということで、地政学上、原油輸送の戦略的立地にあります。

Astronaut Hazzaa Ali Almansoori captured from ISS United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Strait of Hormuz.
The UAE is a federation of seven emirates (Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras al-Khaimah, Sharjah and Umm al-Quwain), and was established on Dec. 2, 1971. It is bordered by the Gulf of Oman and the Persian Gulf, and is in a strategic location slightly south of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital transit point for world crude oil. The UAE’s oil reserves are the seventh-largest in the world while its natural gas reserves are the world’s seventeenth-largest.
