ブカレストはルーマニア南東部にある最大の都市で、ドゥンボヴィツァ川河畔の都市でルーマニアの文化、産業、金融の中心都市です。ブカレストが最初に文書に言及されたのは1459年のことで、それ以来様々な変化を経験し1862年にルーマニアの首都となりました。ブカレストの建築物には歴史的に新古典主義建築や戦間期のバウハウス、アール・デコ、共産主義時代、そして現代と様々なものが混ざり合っています。ブカレスト周辺部にはいくつかの湖があり、市の北部をまたぎドゥンボヴィツァ川の支流のコレンティーナ川に沿って伸びています。ブカレストはルーマニア経済の一大中心地で、ほとんどの銀行や金融関連など大手サービス関連企業は本拠地をブカレストに置いています。

Astronaut Soichi Noguchi captured from ISS Bucharest, the capital of Romania.
Bucharest is the largest city of Romania, as well as its cultural, industrial, and financial center. Bucharest was first mentioned in documents in 1459. It became the capital of Romania in 1862 and is the centre of Romanian media, culture, and art. Its architecture is a mix of historical (Neoclassical and Art Nouveau), interbellum (Bauhaus, and Art Deco), communist era and modern. Bucharest accounts for around 24% of the country’s GDP and about one-quarter of its industrial production, while being inhabited by 9% of the country’s population. Bucharest’s economy is centred on industry and services, with services particularly growing in importance in the last 10 years.
