[:ja]セルゲイ・クド-スべルチコフ宇宙飛行士がISSから撮影したスエズ運河の座礁事件の様子です。
2021年3月23日、アジアとヨーロッパを結ぶ海上交通の要衝、エジプトのスエズ運河で大型のコンテナ船が座礁しました。コンテナ船は、愛媛県の正栄汽船が所有し、台湾の会社が運航する大型のもので、運河を塞ぐような状態で座礁して、他船が通過できなくなりました。運河を管理するスエズ運河庁がコンテナ船を動かすための作業を続けた結果、コンテナ船は29日に離礁に成功し、運河の途中にある係留場所に移動しました。運河の運行は30日から6日ぶりに再開しましたが、通常の状態に戻るには4日ほどかかると伝えられています。

A giant container ship has become wedged across Egypt’s Suez Canal during a sandstorm, blocking one of the world’s busiest trade routes. Dozens of vessels are stuck, waiting for rescue boats to free the 400m-long ship, which was knocked off course by strong winds. The Ever Given, registered in Panama and operated by the shipping company Evergreen, was bound for the port city of Rotterdam in the Netherlands from China and was passing northwards through the canal on its way to the Mediterranean. But now, after an operation involving tug boats and dredging, the vessel is fully refloated and heading north.
