[:ja]欧州宇宙機関ESAが10月末に撮影したロシアのレナ川デルタですが、既に極寒の様子を呈しています。レナ川はシベリア東部のイルクーツク州とサハ共和国を流れる、長さ世界第11位、流域面積世界第9位の河川です。
レナ川は北に流れ、河口部に面積10,800km2の三角州を形成し北極海のラプテフ海に注いでいます。デルタの地底からはマンモスとその牙が見つかっています。

ESA captured Russia’s Lena River Delta in the end of October which is already in the extreme cold. Lena River is the 11th longest and has the 9th largest watershed in the world, and flows through Irkutsk State and Sakha Republic.
Lena River makes its way due north to the Arctic Laptev Sea, creating vast Delta of 10,800km2. Mammoth tusks have been dug out of the delta.
