ラ・パス（La Paz）は、メキシコのバハ・カリフォルニア・スル州の州都であり、地域で重要で中心的な商業地で、人口25万人を擁します。ラパスには少なくとも1万年前から新石器時代の狩猟採集民が居住しており、ラパス近辺およびバハ・カリフォルニア半島全体にわたって、彼らが生活した痕跡を岩絵の形で残しています。エコ・ツーリズムは地域の大きな産業ですが、他には銀鉱山、農業、漁業、真珠の養蚕などが主要な地域経済となっています。

La Paz is the capital city of the Baja California Sur and an important regional commercial center with about 250,000 population. The population of La Paz has grown greatly since the 2000s due to one of the highest standards of living and security in Mexico. La Paz has a tropical desert climate (BWh). As with most of the Gulf of California, the temperature of the water changes substantially over the course of the year, with temperatures around 20°C during winter and around 29°C during summer. Eco-tourism is by far the most important source of tourism income in La Paz. Industries also include silver mining, agriculture, fishing and pearls.
