バハマは人口は約34万人、英語圏に属するイギリス連邦加盟国の小島国です。観光業とタックス・ヘイヴンなどの金融業が経済の中心ですが、首都ナッソーを始めカジノに興ずる観光客も多いです。旧イギリス領であることから、車は左側通行ですが、地理的にアメリカ合衆国からの輸入車が多く、左ハンドル車が多く見かけられます。使用言語は、公用語となっている英語の他に、クレオール語がハイチからの移民者の間では使われています。

Astronaut Thomas Pesquet captured from ISS beautiful Bahamas. As astronauts noted Caribbean blue is outstanding and easily noticeable from space.
The Bahamas consists of more than 700 islands, cays, and islets in the Atlantic Ocean, and is located north of Cuba. The Bahamas is the site of Columbus’s first landfall in the New World in 1492. Although the Spanish never colonised the Bahamas, they shipped the native Lucayans to slavery in Hispaniola. The Bahamas became an independent Commonwealth realm in 1973 with Elizabeth II as its queen. The Bahamas is one of the richest countries in the Americas, with an economy based on tourism and finance.
