[:ja]宇宙飛行士がISSから撮影した南極の皆既日食です。2021年12月4日、南極大陸で太陽の全てが月によって隠される皆既日食が観測されました。日食は太陽と月と地球が一直線上に並び、地球から見て、太陽の一部が月に隠れる現象です。

[Earthview Wonders] No.1437: Total Solar Eclipse over Antarctica🇦🇶

Astronaut on board ISS captured the total solar eclipse over Antarctica. The partial phase of the solar eclipse began on Dec. 4, 2021, and included less than 2 minutes of totality. Solar eclipses occur when the moon, passing between Earth and the sun, is not quite close enough to our planet to obscure sunlight, leaving a part of the Sun visible. They happen every year or two, and can be seen from a narrow pathway across the planet.
