[:ja]NASAの地球観測衛星Suomi NPPが撮影したフィリピンに上陸したスーパー台風ライの様子です。多くの死者、行方不明者が出ていると報じられ、被災された方々にお見舞い申し上げます。
2021年12月17日にかけてフィリピン中部を直撃した台風22号は被害がさらに広がり、これまでに370人以上の死者が確認されていると発表されています。被害は各地の離島にまたがっており、救助や支援活動は難航しています。台風ライは、わずか24時間で「カテゴリー1」から最大の「カテゴリー5」の勢力に発達。観光地として有名な東部のシャルガオ島に上陸した時点で、風速は約72m、最大瞬間風速は83mを超えていました。

NASA’s Suomi NPP satellite captured the Super Typhoon Rai over the Philippines. Our hearts are with those who have been severely affected by the disaster.
At least 375 people are now known to have died after a powerful storm struck the Philippines on Dec. 16, 2021. Super Typhoon Rai, with winds of about 195km/h, sent over 400,000 people running for safety when it hit the country’s south-eastern islands. But establishing the scale of the losses is difficult, as communication to a number of areas has been cut off. There are fears widespread landslides and flooding may have claimed more lives.
