[:ja]サマンサ・クリストフォレッティ宇宙飛行士がISSから撮影したイタリアの水の都、アドリア海の女王と呼ばれるベネチア（ベニス）です。
画像からは、イタリア本土から3850mのリベルタ橋、また、本島を北西から南東へ逆S字に流れる「カナル・グランデ（大運河）」が確認できます。ベネチアは150をこえる運河が177の島々を分け、運河には400におよぶ橋がかかります。ベネチア本島は大きな魚のような形をしており、本島全体が小さな島々からできています。鉄道路線と土手を走る車道が島々と本土を結び、ラグーナの外側の長い砂州や海岸の防波堤がこの町を海から守っています。

Astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti captured from ISS Venice (Venezia), “City of Water”, “Queen of the Adriatic” of Italy.
Venice is a fish-shaped island made of many small islands. It is situated across a group of 117 small islands that are separated by canals and linked by bridges. These are located in the shallow Venetian Lagoon, an enclosed bay that lies between the mouths of the Po and the Piave Rivers.
