[Earthview Wonders] No.1608: Margot Caka, Tibet
Astronaut Shane Kimbrough captured from ISS Margot Caka, Tibet.

Margo Caka of the Tibet Autonomous Region is in the hinterland of the Qiangtang Plateau and belongs to an alpine and arid climate with an average annual temperature of -8°C. During the dry season, it is almost dry most of the time, making it a seasonal lake. The mineral resources of Margo Chaka Lake include brine resources and solid salt resources. The lake depth is only about 5 cm in the rainy season, making it the shallowest lake in the world. The thickness of the salt layer at the center of the lake is more than 1.5 meters; the thickness of the bottom layer of mirabilite is 0.5 meters.
The local scenery on the ground is as follows.
