[:ja]サマンサ・クリストフォレッティ宇宙飛行士がISSから撮影したカザフスタンのバイコヌール宇宙基地です。
毎年8月30日はカザフスタン憲法記念日でした。1995年に新憲法草案が国民投票にかけられ、圧倒的賛成で可決されました。この1995年憲法はカザフスタンを大統領制国家であると規定し、大統領に大幅な権限を与え、最高評議会を廃止して二院制議会を新設しました。また、バイコヌール宇宙基地は、カザフスタン共和国のチュラタムにあるロシアのロケット発射場で、現在、ロシア連邦宇宙局が管理しています。赤道直下から真東に発射されたロケットは地球の自転遠心力を最も効率よく利用できるという理由から、射場の位置はできる限り低緯度が好ましいとされる中、同基地は北緯45度36分という、やや高緯度に位置する射場です。

Astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti captured from ISS Baikonur, Kazakhstan.
Aug. 30 is the Constitution Day of Kazakhstan which commemorates the adoption of the Kazakhstani Constitution in 1995. Constitution Day is one of the most important holidays in Kazakhstan. There are traditionally mass festivities, concerts, parades and fireworks on this day. The Supreme Court of Kazakhstan also conducts seminars in high schools around the country. Also, Baikonur Cosmodrome is a spaceport located in an area of southern Kazakhstan leased to Russia. The spaceport is located in the desert steppe of Baikonur. The spaceport is currently leased by the Kazakh Government to Russia until 2050, and is managed jointly by the Roscosmos State Corporation and the Russian Aerospace Forces. Both Sputnik 1, the first artificial satellite, and Vostok 1, the first human spaceflight, were launched from Baikonur. (Credit: Samantha Cristoforetti, ESA, NASA)
