[:ja]気象庁が昨年末に打ち上げた気象衛星ひまわり9号が初めて撮影した画像が地球でした。昨日、No.170: 最新気象衛星GOES-16からの地球でもNOAA/NASAのGOES-16が撮影した地球を紹介しましたが、たまたま気象衛星の初撮影が重なりました。
地球が如何に雲に覆われているかがよくわかります。雲の役割を考えさせられる1枚です。

[Earthview Wonders] No.171: First Earth Photo from Himawari 9
The very first photo JMA (Japan Meteorological Agency)’s Himawari 9 satellite captured was the whole Earth. As the Earth captured by NOAA/NASA’s GOES-16 was introduced with No.170: First Earth Image from GOES-16 yesterday, the whole Earth capturing timing of the two new satellites coincided.
Notice a large area of the Earth is covered with cloud and imagine its role.
