[:ja]アントン・シュカプレロフ宇宙飛行士がISSから撮影したアゼルバイジャンの首都バクーです。
首都バクーはカスピ海西岸に突き出したアブシェロン半島南岸にあり、バクー湾に面するように広がった港町です。2百万人を擁する南コーカサス地域有数の大都市で、大規模なバクー油田をもち、帝政ロシア時代から石油の生産地として発展してきました。アゼルバイジャンは、南コーカサスに位置するため、東ヨーロッパに含められることもあります。鉄分の赤い色を含んだ岩塩が豊富なマサジルゴル（マサジル湖）も見えています。

Astronaut Anton Shkaplerov captured from ISS Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
Baku with 2 million population is the largest city on the Caspian Sea and of the Caucasus region. It is located on the southern shore of the Absheron Peninsula, alongside the Bay of Baku. Baku’s largest industry is petroleum, and its petroleum exports make it a large contributor to the country. Pink Masazir Lake (Masazirgol) with abundant iron content is captured in the image as well.
