[:ja]トーマス・ペスケット宇宙飛行士がISSから撮影した南米・仏領ギアナ🇬🇫の県都、カイエンヌです。
1604年に、フランス王アンリ4世が港を建設し、アマゾンの調査を行って以降、少しずつフランスから入植者が入るようになり、1638年にカイエンヌの町を設立。1664年から本格的な定住が始まりました。
最大の産業は漁業、金、木材ですが、赤道に近く、静止軌道の打上げに適した場所であることから、1966年、フランス国立宇宙センターの射場・ギアナ宇宙センター（クールー宇宙センター）が建設され、今ではギアナ宇宙センター関連の産業がGDPの25%を占め、1,700人を雇用しています。

Since 1604 when France’s Henri IV constructed a seaport to initiate Amazon research, French Guiana increased its settlers. Cayenne was established in 1638.
The largest industry is fishing, gold mining and timber, with its location near the equator, France established the Guiana Space Centre in 1966. Today space industry accounts for over 20% of GDP with 1,700 comployment.
