シチリアはイタリアの特別自治州の1つで、欧州最大（3,329m）の活火山エトナ火山を擁します。2000年以上前から穀物をはじめとする農作物の生産地で、なかでもオリーブとワインが特産品です。

Sicily is an autonomous Region of Italy and its most prominent landmark is Mt. Etna, the highest (3,329m) active volcano in Europe. Since 2000 years ago Sicily has been the major agriculturral land and the main producer of olives and wine.
