ニュージーランド・北島にある火山で、標高2,518mです。山容は円錐形の富士山に似ているので、映画「ラストサムライ」でも戦闘シーンがこの山麓で撮られたことでも有名です。

Mt. Taranaki is an active volcano on the west coast of New Zealand’s North Island with height of 2,518m. Because of its resemblance to Mt. Fuji in Japan, Taranaki provided the backdrop for the movie “The Last Samurai”.
