[:ja]国際宇宙ステーションISSから撮影されたカリブ海、タークス・カイコス諸島のグランド・ターク島です。タークス・カイコス諸島は、西インド諸島に属するタークス諸島とカイコス諸島からなる、イギリス領の海外領土です。
1512年にファン・ポンセ・デ・レオンが発見した時には無人島でしたが、その後、1681年バミューダ諸島にいたイギリスの塩の採掘者が採掘の容易なグランドターク島に住み着いた事によって、イギリスの植民地化が進みました。

International Space Station (ISS) captured Grand Turk Island of Turks and Caicos Islands in the Caribbean Sea. Turks and Caicos Islands are a British Overseas Territory consisting of the larger Caicos Islands and smaller Turks Islands.
The island was unmanned when Juan Ponce de León discovered, but in the subsequent centuries, Bermudian (British) salt collectors settled the Grand Turk Island and British colonization proceeded.
