[:ja]NASAの地球観測衛星Suomi NPPが撮影した夜のインダス川とパキスタンのカラチです。夜でもインダス川沿いの植生が確認できます。また、過去の戦争等の歴史から、インドとパキスタンの国境に光があることも興味深い点です。
紀元前2600年から紀元前1800年頃まで栄えたとされるインダス文明は、画像の北東、インダス川の上流の方を中心としたと伝えられています。

NASA’s Suomi NPP satellite captured the night view of Indus River and karachi of Pakistan. As can be seen from the image, the dark crops and vegetation growing alongits banks help reveal the general shape of the river. The lights along the international border between Pakistan and India with conflicts in the past is also visible.
The Indus Valley Civilization which is thought to have matured B.C.2600-B.C.1800. was located upstream of Indus River, near top right corner of the image.
The upstream part of Indus River at Skardu, Pakistan is as follows.
