[:ja]パオロ・ネスポリ宇宙飛行士がISSから撮影したブリスベンとモートン・ベイです。ブリスベンはシドニー、メルボルンに次ぐオーストラリア第三の都市です。

ブリスベン大都市圏はグレートディバイディング山脈の東部、モートン湾沿岸の氾濫原に広がる平野にあります。モートン島近海には、絶滅危惧種指定の哺乳類ジュゴンが生息しています。ジュゴンは世界でも生息数が少ない希少動物で、手付かずの自然が残る場所にしか生息しないと言われますが、モートン島の周囲には数百頭ものジュゴンが住み着いています。

[Earthview Wonders] No.333: Brisbane and Moreton Island🇦🇺

Astronaut Paolo Nespoli captured from ISS Brisbane and Moreton Bay. Brisbane is the third most populous city in Australia after Sydney and Melbourne.

Brisbane is in the southeast corner of Queensland. Brisbane’s metropolitan area sprawls along the Moreton Bay floodplain from Caboolture in the north to Beenleigh in the south, and across to Ipswich in the south west.

In the sea around Moreton Island where great nature exists, the dugong, a medium-sized marine mammal live in herds. The dugong is largely dependent on seagrass communities for subsistence and is thus restricted to the coastal habitats. The northern waters of Australia between Shark Bay and Moreton Bay are believed to be the dugong’s contemporary stronghold.
