[:ja]パオロ・ネスポリ宇宙飛行士がISSから撮影したアルジェリアのオリエンタル大砂丘です。
オリエンタル大砂丘はアルジェリア頭部、チュニジアにまたがる東西600km、南北200kmに広がるサハラ砂漠の大砂丘です。衛星画像では、ある程度規則正しく砂丘が形成されるように見えるのが興味深いです。

Astronaut Paolo Nespoli captured from ISS the Grand Erg Oriental (Great Eastern Sand Sea) of Algeria.
The Grand Erg Oriental is a large erg or “field of sand dunes” in the Sahara Desert. Situated for the most part in Saharan lowlands of northeast Algeria, the Grand Erg Oriental covers an area 600 km wide by 200 km north to south. The erg’s northeastern edge spills over into neighboring Tunisia.
