[:ja]ランディ・ブレズニク宇宙飛行士がISSから撮影したデンマークの首都コペンハーゲンです。
コペンハーゲンはデンマーク語の”Kjøbmandehavn”（商人たちの港）に由来し、「北欧のパリ」と比喩されます。町の起源は、1000年ころスヴェン1世とその息子クヌート大王によって良港として発見されたのが最初で、1417年に城塞はデンマーク王の所有へ移り、王国の主要都市となりました。コペンハーゲンは環境保護意識が高く、将来的なカーボン・ニュートラル計画、自転車レーンの構築などの環境政策などが評価され、2012年6月には2014年の欧州環境首都に選出されました。

Originally a Viking fishing village founded in the 10th century, Copenhagen became the capital of Denmark in the early 15th century. Copenhagen is recognized as one of the most environmentally friendly cities in the world. As a result, the city ranked as the top green city for the second time in the 2014 Global Green Economy Index (GGEI). Copenhagen aims to be carbon-neutral by 2025.
