[:ja]#ISS から撮影された、ペルセウス座流星群です。国立天文台によれば、日本では今夜、8月12日（金）22時頃が極大と予想されています。オリンピック観戦で皆さん忙しいと思いますが、お時間のある方はぜひ外に出て見てみて下さい。

こちらは2013年8月12日に国立天文台がハワイ島マウナケア中腹で撮影したペルセウス座流星群です。

ペルセウス座流星群は、毎年安定して多くの流星が流れる三大流星群（しぶんぎ座／ふたご座／ペルセウス座流星群）のひとつで、条件がよい時に熟練した観測者が見ると、1時間あたり80個以上の流星が観測されます。母天体は、太陽の回りを約130年の周期で公転しているスイフト・タットル彗星（109P/Swift-Tuttle）です。
