[:ja]ISSから撮影された、アフリカ・ナミビアのナミブ＝ナウクルフト国立公園が擁するナミブ砂漠です。面積は約50,000km2にわたり、約8000万年前に生まれた世界で最も古い砂漠と考えられています。「ナミブ」は主要民族であるサン人の言葉で、「何もない」という意味です。
園内で最も有名なのが、鮮やかなオレンジ色の世界最大の砂丘群「ソッサスブレイ」です。地上からの様子はこちら。

World’s oldest Namib Desert captured from ISS. Having endured arid conditions for 80 million years, the 50,000km2 Namib may be the oldest desert in the world. The name Namib is of the San’s language and means “vast place”.
Namib-Naukluft National Park is located in Namibia of Africa, and has Sossusvlei, a salt and clay pan surrounded by high red dunes.
