[:ja]アレックス・ゲルスト宇宙飛行士がISSから撮影したイベリア半島から大西洋に舞うダストです。これには山火事の煙も含まれています。
アフリカから急激に吹き込んでくる高温の空気が原因で、スペインとポルトガルで気温が上がっており、8月3、4日にはスペイン南西部とポルトガル南部では47度に迫る高気温となり、高温警報が発表されました。また、8月6日からスペイン東部バレンシア州南部で発生した山火事は8月8日までに2,639ヘクタールを焼失、住居10～20戸が被害に遭ったことが当局の発表により分かりました。

Astronaut Alex Gerst captured from ISS dust streams soaring to the Atlantic Ocean from Iberian Peninsula. These streams include ones from wildfire.
Aided by a surge of hot air sweeping in from Africa, temperatures in Spain and Portugal rose dramatically and hit 46C on Aug. 2, 3. A major wildfire blackened hills in Portugal’s southern Algarve region. In neighboring Spain, 27 aircraft were helping some 700 firefighters put out a fire near Valencia.
