[Earthview Wonders] No.622: Calpathian Mountains
NASA’s Aqua satellite captured Carpathian Mountains, Eastern Europe.

From russet reds to mellow yellows, fall colors are spreading across the Carpathian Mountains, forming an arc roughly 1,500km long across Central and Eastern Europe, and the second-longest mountain range in Europe. The mountains are home to a large population of brown bears and lynxes, as well as one of the largest undisturbed forests in Europe. The region is a top destination for viewing fall colors.
The local scenery on the ground is as follows.
