[:ja]アレックス・ゲルスト宇宙飛行士がISSから撮影したボリビア中央部です。グランデ川の河川敷の砂埃が舞って、川が煙を吐いているように見えます。

ボリビアでは、ウユニ塩湖の砂埃が舞って広がることがあり、観測されています（“Dust Storm over Southern Bolivia”）が、この画像のように、河床あるいは河川敷の砂が風に舞うこともあります。

Astronaut Alex Gerst captured from ISS “the smoking rivers” of central Bolivia.

The image shows that smaller plumes arise from the riverbeds of Grande River. Dusts from Uyuni Salt Flat are observed in the past (“Dust Storm over Southern Bolivia”), but the dusts are also blown upward by strong winds.
