[:ja]ESAの地球観測衛星Copernicus Sentinel-2Bが撮影したウルグアイ川の河口付近です。アルゼンチンとウルグアイの国境です。
ウルグアイ川は、南アメリカを流れるラプラタ川第二の支流で、ブラジルの海岸山脈の西斜面を水源とする全長約1,593kmの河川です。画像中の、ウルグアイ川が西方に流れる河口にほど近い一地帯では、沼や24の中洲の小島が見られ、豊かな生態系を作り出しています。この湿地帯には130種の魚類、14種の両生類、104種類の鳥類、15種類の哺乳類の生息地とされています。

ESA’s Copernicus Sentinel-2B satellite captured Uruguay River Wetlands at the border of Uruguay and Argentina.
The Uruguay River flows from north to south and forms parts of the boundaries of Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay, separating some of the Argentine provinces of La Mesopotamia from the other two countries. Composed of lagoons, swamps and 24 islets, the area is a haven for wildlife, protected as a national park. This wetland system is home to 130 species of fish, 14 species of amphibian, 104 species of bird and 15 species of mammal. The wetlands play an important role in regulating flood levels and maintaining water quality, as well as safeguarding the banks of the Uruguay River from erosion.
