タッシリ・ナジェールは、アルジェリア南東部サハラ砂漠にある台地状の山脈で、およそ500kmにわたり拡がっており、最高点は標高2158mのAdrar Afaoです。台地を侵食した渓谷には糸杉が点在し、考古学的な景観も含んでいることから、「タッシリ・ナジェール国立公園」として国立公園、生物圏保護区、ラムサール条約登録地に指定されており、ユネスコの世界遺産にも登録されています。

Tassili n’Ajjer is a national park in the Sahara desert, located on a vast plateau in south-east Algeria. Having one of the most important groupings of prehistoric cave art in the world, and covering an area of over 72,000km2, Tassili n’Ajjer was inducted into UNESCO’s World Heritage Site list in 1982.
