Algeria is characterized by vast desert landscapes that cover most of its territory, forming extensive arid plains. In contrast, the northern region is traversed by the Atlas Mountains, with peaks rising above 2000m, and the Mediterranean coast receives ample rainfall, supporting grasslands and other vegetation. Approximately 95% of the population resides in this northern zone. The southeastern part of Algeria is more mountainous, and the volcanic Hoggar Mountains include Mount Tahat (2918 m), the highest peak in the country.

The local scenery on the ground is as follows.
