Dubai is the largest and most populous city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is located on the southeast coast of the Persian Gulf and is the capital of the Emirate of Dubai, one of the seven emirates that make up the country. Dubai emerged as a global city and business hub of the Middle East. It is also a major transport hub for passengers and cargo.

The Palm Jebel Ali is an artificial archipelago which began construction in October 2002. The project, which is 50 percent larger than the Palm Jumeirah, was affected by financial crisis in 2009 and is still under construction. For reference, the scenery of the Palm Jumeirah, a smaller but similar artificial archipelago with 17 leaf-shaped land and a large 11km long bulwark is as follows.
