カウナカカイは米国ハワイ州モロカイ島最大の町ですが、人口は約3千5百人です。1900年代初頭から変わらない景色と、ハワイ最大の港及び最長の埠頭を有します。
1930年代は「カウナカカイの狂った町長」 (The Cockeyed Mayor of Kaunakakai) という歌で知られました。

Kaunakakai is the largest town on Molokai Island with approximately 3,500 population. It has unchanged scenery from early 1900’s and the largest port and longest pier in Hawaii.
The town was made famous in the 1930s by the song “The Cockeyed Mayor of Kaunakakai”, beginning an ongoing tradition of designating an honorary mayor for the town.
