[Earthview Wonders] No.351: Ebro River Delta of Spain🇪🇸

Astronaut Paolo Nespoli captured from ISS Ebro River Delta, northeast Spain. The Ebro is the second longest river (930km) in the Iberian peninsula and flows through 5 states.

The rounded form of the delta attests to the balance between sediment deposition by the Ebro and removal of this material by wave erosion. The modern delta is in intensive agricultural use for rice, fruit (in particular citrus), and vegetables. It is very important for over 300 species of a wide range of transient and overwintering bird species, and serves as an essential stopover point for large numbers of migratory birds and waterfowl.

The local scenery on the ground is as follows.
