マサイマラ国立保護区はケニア南西部、タンザニアとの国境沿いに位置する広大な国立保護区です。国境を挟んで南に広がるタンザニアのセレンゲティ国立公園の北部地域として同一の生態系を形成しています。両地域を季節ごとに巡るヌーとシマウマの季節移動「グレート･マイグレーション」は有名です。

The Maasai Mara National Reserve is a large game reserve in Kenya, contiguous with the Serengeti National Park in Mara Region, Tanzania. It is globally famous for its exceptional population of lions, leopards and cheetahs, and the annual migration of zebra, Thomson’s gazelle, and wildebeest to and from the Serengeti every year from July to October, known as the Great Migration.
