[:ja]アレックス・ゲルスト宇宙飛行士がISSから撮影した米国カリフォルニア州の山火事です。
米国カリフォルニア州で熱波や乾燥により十数ヵ所で大規模な火災が続き、8月1日までに少なくとも8人が死亡、1500棟以上が倒壊または被害を受けました。観光地として知られるヨセミテ国立公園も一部閉鎖され、オレゴン州やコロラド州などでも散発的に山火事が発生。高温と乾燥が続くカリフォルニア州は火災が起きやすいのですが、カリフォルニア州のブラウン知事は、気候変動などにより深刻な山火事が毎年のように起きる事態は「新常態だ」とし、財政負担が今後も増える可能性を指摘しました。

This wildfire forces closure of Yosemite National Park, and other wildfires are taking place in Oregon and Colorado as well. CA Governor Brown warns the ‘new normal’ of wildfires could bring fiscal stress for California.
