[:ja]国際宇宙ステーションISSから撮影した美しいインドネシアのジャワ島の夜景です。最も明るい町はスラバヤ市です。
ジャワ島には首都ジャカルタがありますが、島の人口は約1億4千万人で、インドネシア一のみならず、世界第一位の人口を有する島です。画像のスラバヤ市はジャカルタに次ぐインドネシア第2の人口約300万人を擁する都市で、オランダ植民地時代から貿易の中心として栄えてきました。現在はインドネシア最大の港湾で、最大の軍港です。砂糖、タバコ、コーヒーなどを輸出し、高等教育機関も多いです。

International Space Station ISS captured beautiful nightview of Java Island, Indonesia. The most bright city in the middle of the island is Surabaya.
Java is the main island of Indonesia. With the Indonesian capital city, Jakarta on the western side, Java is home to 141 million people which is equivalent to 56.7 percent of the Indonesian population, and is the world’s most populous island. The brightest urban area is Java’s port city of Surabaya, Indonesia’s second largest city. The city is Indonesia’s second busiest sea port, ships arriving and departing transport over 33 million tons of cargo and 9 million people annually.
