[:ja]アレックス・ゲルスト宇宙飛行士がISSから撮影した飛行機雲です。
飛行機雲はエンジンから出る排気ガスが作り出す雲です。飛行機のエンジンがマイナス40℃以下の外気を吸い込んで、圧縮・燃焼させ、300~600℃となった排気ガスを出すと、その中の水分が急に冷やされて凍り、雲となって白く見えます。冬の寒い日に息を吐くと、白くなるのと同じですね。No.62でも紹介しています。
