[:ja]NASAの地球観測衛星Suomi NPPがISSから撮影したオーストラリア、タスマニア島の火事です。
1月上旬以降、記録的な猛暑が続くオーストラリアでは、人口の集中する南東部を中心に大規模な山火事が相次いで発生しており、特に、タスマニア島では、250棟以上の建物が焼失し、住民約3000人が避難しています。
地上の様子はこちらです。タスマニア州で、熱波に伴う火災が発生し、州都ホバートの北方で雑木林を焼く火災の煙が立ち込めています。

NASA’s SuomiNPP satellite captured from ISS the wildfires of Tasmania, Australia.
Extremely dry and hot conditions caused larged fires which have been burning for almost 2 weeks in central and southeast Tasmania, Australia. By the end of January, 44 fires were reported. Smoke from some of the fires was reported to be visible as far away as New Zealand.
The local scenery on the ground is as follows. Fire near Hobart fueled by heatwave spread smoke in the area.
