グランドターク島はタークス・カイコス諸島最大の島であり、首都コックバーンタウンとJAGSマッカートニー国際空港があり、地域の、行政、歴史、文化、金融の中心です。人口はこの地域で二番目に多い約3720人です。経済は主に漁業で塩の採掘、海綿、アサの輸出で栄えていましたが、現在は観光とオフショア金融で栄えています。

Grand Turk Island is the largest island of the Turks and Caicos Islands with the capital, Cockburn Town and the JAGS McCartney International Airport. The island is the administrative, historic, cultural and financial center of the territory, and has the second largest population of the islands at approximately 3,720 people. Since 1980s, tourism has been gradually on the increase. It is common for foreign couples to be married in the Turks and Caicos Islands today.
