[:ja]ルカ・パルミタノ宇宙飛行士がISSから撮影したオーストラリアのニューキャッスル沖のサングリントです。「サングリント（sunglint）」は、太陽光が穏やかな海面で反射した時に形成される現象で、太陽光が水面に対しほぼ鉛直に反射する鏡面反射が起こっています。
ニューカッスルは、オーストラリア大陸南東部沿岸、ハンター川河口のタスマン海に面する港湾都市で、シドニーの北方160kmに位置しています。ニューキャッスル都市圏は同国で2番目に人口が大きく、同都市圏を中心としてニューサウスウェールズ州のハンター地域が設定され、同地域の行政、経済、交通の中心となっています。主要な産業は炭鉱で、造船も行われています。また、ハンター地域はワインの産地として世界的に有名です。

The Newcastle metropolitan area is the second most populated area in the Australian state of New South Wales. Located at the mouth of the Hunter River, it is the predominant city within the Hunter Region. Famous for its coal, Newcastle is the largest coal exporting harbor in the world, exporting 159.9 million tonnes of coal in 2017.
