[Earthview Wonders] No.1103: Jaipur, India🇮🇳
NASA’s Landsat 8 captured Jaipur, India, known as “the Pink City.” India prepares for “Unlock 4.0” from Sept. 1, more activities have resumed across the states other than cinemas and educational institutions.

Jaipur was founded in 1727 by the Rajput ruler Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amer, after whom the city is named. It was one of the earliest “planned” cities of modern India, designed by Vidyadhar Bhattacharya. As can be seen from the image, unlike the previous capital, which was located on hilly terrain, Jaipur was built in a flat valley. In May 2020, Jaipur suffered the servere hitting of the locust swarm which fly up to 150km in a day.
The local scenery on the ground is as follows.
