[Earthview Wonders] No.61: Taklamakan Desert and Bosten Lake
Bosten Lake, a freshwater lake in the northeast edge of Tarim Basin, China. Blessings from the Ten Shan Mountains in the north supports the livings of 55,000 people in the village.

Kaidu River feeds muddy sediment into the waters of the lake which built up a large, smooth alluvial fan, now mostly covered with fields. Also, water from the lake infiltrates under the dunes and evaporates on the other side, producing salt flats.
