[:ja]NASAの地球観測衛星Aquaが撮影したアルジェリアのベジャイア付近の山火事です。
秋が近づくにつれ、北半球の山火事は落ち着き始めましたが、今年も世界中で山火事の被害は甚大なものとなりました。2021年8月9日から始まったアルジェリア北部の山火事では、90人が死亡、うち33名は消化・救助活動に参加した兵士であったと報じられています。地中海沿岸諸国ではアルジェリアの他にも、トルコやギリシャで山火事が続きました。

NASA’s Aqua satellite captured the wildfire of Algeria, in mountain areas near Bejaia and Tizi-Ouzou.
Wildfire season of the northern hemisphere has nearly come to an end, but this year was another suffering season for those affected. The 2021 Algeria wildfires are multiple wildfires happening in Algeria since Aug. 9, 2021, and have killed 90 people, including 57 civilians and 33 soldiers. The soldiers died after being trapped in the blaze during rescue operations. On Aug. 10, 2021, multiple fires have burned Mediterranean trees, destroying olive trees and killing cattle and chickens. Many distant villages have very limited water. Some villagers fled, while others tried to hold back the flames themselves, using buckets, branches and rudimentary tools, due to the unavailability of firefighting aircraft.
