[:ja]ロバート・ハインズ宇宙飛行士がISSから撮影した日本を直撃した台風14号です。令和4年台風第14号は、2022年9月14日に日本の南の海上（小笠原近海）で発生し、9月18日に2000年以降最低気圧で鹿児島県に上陸しました。アジア名は「ナンマドル（Nanmadol）」です。九州7県で約30万戸超停電するなど、西日本を中心に甚大な影響が出ています。ちなみに、2022年は、ラニーニャ現象の影響で平年よりも日本の近くで台風が発生する傾向にあります。

Astronaut Robert Hines captured from ISS the Typhoon Nanmadol that severely hit Japan.
Super Typhoon Nanmadol (台風14号) tracked its path northeastward, bringing drenching rains and high winds to entire Japan. Extensive blackout involving 300,000 households took place and severe damage to entire Japan is recognized. According to Japanese officials, the Special Typhoon Warning for Super Typhoon Nanmadol is the first time a special typhoon warning has been issued outside of the Okinawa area. News media indicates that Super Typhoon Nanmadol has the potential to become one of the largest storms to hit Japan in the last 70 years.
