強力な北極圏寒冷前線により、米国の中西部から東部にかけて、激しい吹雪となりました。この記録的大寒波により、数十人が死亡、数千便の航空機が12月24、25両日、遅延や欠航となりました。陸路での移動も難しく、多くの人々がクリスマス休暇の旅行を取りやめています。

NASA’s Aqua satellite captured heavy blizzard over northeastern North America.
A powerful Arctic cold front battered the Midwest and eastern U.S. in late-December 2022. A severe winter storm has recorded 60 weather-related deaths to this date, and cancelled thousands of flights during Christmas time. As winds howled and snow piled up from what some forecasters called a “once-in-a-generation” storm, so did the traffic accidents, power outages, and transportation woes.
