[:ja]NASAの地球観測衛星Aquaが撮影したチリの山火事です。
2023年2月上旬に、チリで多数の森林火災が発生し、5日時点で24人が死亡、970人が負傷したと報告されています。ここ数年で最悪の自然災害の1つとなっています。同国政府によると、森林火災により米ロードアイランド州の面積に匹敵する約27万ヘクタールが焼け、火災は約260ヵ所で続いており、そのうち約28ヵ所が特に危険な状態です。政府はビオビオ、ニュブレ、アラウカニアの3州に非常事態を宣言しました。地球温暖化等の影響で、最も影響を受けた地域では気温が40度を超えています。

NASA’s Aqua satellite captured the wildfire in central Chile.
Forest fires across south-central Chile that have left 24 people dead and swallowed up hundreds of houses spread into new areas on Wednesday after raging overnight, burning up the habitats of vulnerable woodland animals. The Chilean government has put 3 central regions of the country on high alert of forest fires amid a heatwave. while thousands of firefighters continue to battle blazes in the south.
