[:ja]ジェシカ・メイヤー宇宙飛行士がISSから撮影したうろこ雲です。うろこ雲は巻積雲（けんせきうん）です。白色で陰影のない非常に小さな雲片が多数の群れをなし、集まって魚の鱗や水面の波のような形状をした雲です。上空高く高度 5~13km程度に浮かび、雲を構成する粒は氷の結晶からできています。基本雲形（十種雲形）の一つで、上層雲に分類されます。ラテン語学術名は巻雲（cirrus）と積雲（cumulus）を合成した cirrocumulus（シーロキュムラス）です。

Astronaut Jessica Meir captured from ISS cirrocumulus clouds. Cirrocumulus is one of the three main genus types of high-altitude tropospheric clouds, the other two being cirrus and cirrostratus. They usually occur at an altitude of 5~12km. Like lower-altitude cumuliform and stratocumuliform clouds, cirrocumulus signifies convection. Unlike other high-altitude tropospheric clouds like cirrus and cirrostratus, cirrocumulus includes a small amount of liquid water droplets, although these are in a supercooled state.
